Instant Accommodation

Instant Accommodation sells quickly deployable, fully furnished containers that can be modified and equipped for a variety of purposes, including living / sleeping accommodations, office spaces and toilets. The business is based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

Jamo built the website to display the containers that are available for sale. A version of our custom-made webshop software "eStorez" was installed, allowing the owners to easily manage and update their website in both English and Russian.

The company omtrend lets people in organisations function better. Jamo was approached to give the company an online face. Thus, CMeasy was installed and a design was created that matched the corporate identity.

Feedhop

Feedhop is a web application where you can discover new and interesting web feeds.

This service is unique on the internet with respect to the fact that it focuses on providing users with personalized web feed recommendations. It is meant to be used as an additional tool to the user's web-/desktop-based feed reader. The personal recommendations are based on the user's feed subscriptions, in combination with the reading profiles of similar users. Users can be notified of new feed recommendations via the website, email or via their personal web feed. The website also provides a 'browse & explore' environment so that users can easily find interesting feeds on their own.

Feedhop is 100% Jamo: it's initiated, developed, launched and maintained by yours truly.

Mediation Groep Twente

The company website of Mediation Groep Twente outlines their services, company information and contact details.

Jamo Web Creations was hired to rebuild and redesign the old website, as there were problems with the navigational structure, site maintainability, usability, and information presentation. Also, there was the wish for a more dynamic website, such as the inclusion of an automatically generated news page. The website was rebuilt by installing a customized version of Jamo's Content Management System CMeaSy, so that the site owners can update and maintain their site themselves. We built a personalized template that focused on a clear information presentation, while still matching the company style. Furthermore, we analyzed and re-organized the site structure and rewrote some of the web texts from a usability point of view.

ilse.nl suggestions

Ilse.nl is the #2 search engine in The Netherlands (in 2007).

Related search queries are displayed on the result pages of ilse.nl, as can be seen in the image above (the related search queries are displayed directly beneath the search box). These search suggestions are meant to assist users in (re)formulating their queries, as well as provide the searcher with an easy way of exploring the subject they're interested in.

During a three month scientific research regarding the effects of offering goal-oriented search suggestions, Jamo Web Creations developed several algorithms that generated related search queries, based on the click data in the query logs. These suggestions were then displayed on ilse.nl in a large-scale experiment to evaluate their effects. The usage rate of these experimental suggestions was significantly higher than the previous suggestion algorithm, and resulted in more effective search sessions as well.

VOC Warfare

VOC Warfare is one of the most complete web resources on the military system of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). This informative website is based on a Master's thesis.

Jamo Web Creations built this site entirely. The website includes texts, an implementation of the Google Maps API to visually detail the locations of the VOC's history of warfare, and a tag-based gallery with historical images.

Fuzzy Travel & Reislogger

Fuzzy Travel and Reislogger are free travel blog providers, the first aimed at international, the latter aimed at Dutch travelers. Users can keep their friends and family updated on their travels by writing blog entries, uploading pictures and videos, showing their route on a Google Map, and updating their profile. In other words, the websites are platforms for user-generated content.

These websites are a true "Jamo Web Creation", since we initiated and launched this project ourselves. All aspects - e.g. architecture, design, development, optimization and maintenance - were done by Jamo Web Creations. The service contains many nifty features, such as an automatic import of Flickr pictures and a fully adjustable sidebar.

The BlogsLikeThis website is the end result of a prize-winning university project: developing methods for discovery and analysis of weblog communities. It involved processing a large data set from the blogosphere to find latent relationships between blogs, an activity that had not been done to date.

Activities of Jamo Web Creations in this project included: data mining, programming, design and development.

World Backpackers

At World Backpackers, travelers can find and exchange experiences and information. It includes travel information, stories, destination guides and a forum.
